So after trying pole fitness at the beginning of the summer and absolutely loving it, I decided that I’d like to try some more new sports. So to end my 2014 with a bang, I thought it would be cool to give skiing a go for the first time in my life.

So, at 10am on November 2 until 10pm on November 3, George Creasy and I had a challenge – to travel as far away from Warwick University campus as possible within 36 hours without spending a penny, in aid of AICR (the Association for International Cancer Research). Day 17: The unexpected conquered

So, this brings me to the end of my travels across Central America. I can confirm that I am now officially home and safe (relieved sighs all round)!

When I think back over today and my first experience of the world’s adventure capital, it feels truly surreal. It has been one of the most incredible days of my life for certain.

Day 10: Ometepe, Nicaragua

Today we arrived in Ometepe, an island in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, which is formed of two volcanoes called Concepcion and Maderas, which is fairly unusual as it is the largest volcanic island in a freshwater lake in the world.
